What’s new at the Museum?

Touchscreens enhance the museum experience.

Last Friday a private event was held at the Museum to celebrate the installation of our new touchscreens and audio. A diverse group of local tourism businesses, local media, NTSA members and volunteers were invited. The event was to highlight the new additions and a chance to revisit our favourite displays and exhibits as well. The touchscreens would not have been made possible without the History Trust of South Australia’s Museums and Collections( MaC)Program’s grant funding and the in depth research done by our own members, Pat Uppill and Caroline Smith, which consolidated the stories that you can now hear for the first time. Along with the audio provided by Pat’s grandson and a local actor Nicole Rutty, two of the touchscreens bring to life the stories of past pioneers and especially highlight the lives of women whose stories would otherwise have remained invisible. It is so exciting to have these 6 new touchscreens to enhance the visitors experience. we’d love to have you visit.
